Father Greg Boyle, SJ, founder and Executive Director of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the United States, now in its 25th year, gave the address for the 2014 Martin Luther King Community Faith Celebration, The Buoyancy of Hope: Now Entering the Kinship of God. Chris Houmard, the Dartmouth Rockapellas, Evelynn Ellis, and Dierre Upshaw provided the music. Dartmouth students, Lauren Heywood '14, Eliza Rockefeller '17, Madeline Cooper '16, Marylynne Sitko '16, Adria Brown '15, and Saaid Arshad '14 read from the writings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a variety of religious traditions that have called people to justice. Sucharita Jayanti '14 introduced the lighting of the candles.
