Pounder (1934) and first director -- Eugeny Brusilovsky who created eight national operas and a ballet. Opened in 1932 and was named after poet, composer, and philosopher Abay Qunanbayuli. I was able to see the National and traditional Kazakh Opera on the night. Just fabulous costumes art and music.
