Principles of OLE 2.0: An Exposition of Microsoft's Object-Oriented Systems Architecture, lecture by Tony Williams. This video was recorded in March 1994. From University Video Communications' catalog: "Tony Williams presents Microsoft's Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) architecture, and particularly, the underlying component object model. He describes the significant characteristics of the object model and the architecture rationale for each. Several design patterns recurring using the object model to structure software to support compound documents and other uses, such as forms and controls. Using examples and demonstrations, Williams illustrates how these designs affect end-user software. He concludes by discussing the work to extend the OLE architecture to new domains."
