Before anyone complains about the audio, we apologize in advance. Prior to investing in a modest wireless mic system (over $1000 for 1.5 sets) we were using just a single boom mic. As you can see it didn't work out too well, especially with surrounding traffic and me turning my back to the camera! This was initially going to be trashed because of the audio, but I loved meeting Hilda so much that we made the decision to post it.

I was walking around in Chinatown and decided to plant myself by my favourite mural by Arthur Cheng on Columbia Street when Hilda stopped for me. You see, in the old film days walking into someone's frame while taking a picture actually cost something. You paid for the film and printing, and you can't just delete the image in camera. Younger kids typically don't stop because they know it's digital. However, older people will stop for you when you're trying to take a picture. Hilda didn't realize I was trying to get her into my picture!

Enjoy our quick conversation. You can see that when you approach people in a friendly manner, most are willing to talk, especially older ones. They have the art of conversation down perfectly. Talking to strangers was normal in the past.

Thanks for watching, and moving forward you will hear improved audio. Check out my Instagram feed for more chance encounters like this:
