Hundreds Walk to End Lou Gehrig's Disease

FAIRBORN--Young and old people came by the hundreds to raise money and awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease. The walk to defeat ALS was a successful in Fairborn this morning. ABC 22/FOX 45's Rhonda Moore, who lost a good friend to the disease, was the master of ceremonies. The walk stretched along the perimeter of Community park in Fairborn.The money raised today goes towards research to find a cure and towards programs right here in our community helping those affected; from support groups to actual equipment that helps people get around easier. More importantly, it's a small community finding that common ground knowing they're not alone in the fight.All the support I see for this disease, I mean people are so sick, but all the love that's around... It's hard. With other diseases, there's a bigger population. With ALS, there just isn't. said Marlaine Triplett. They can feel supported and no there are others out there struggling, it's just very motivating, Marlin Seymour.The goal was to raise $90,000 today. They're just $2,000 short and they expect to get even more.
