President Barack Obama says the United States will continue to confront Islamic State extremists despite the brutal murder of James Foley. A day after the militants released a video showing the American journalist being beheaded, the president says he spoke with Foley's family and offered condolences. Speaking from Massachusetts, Obama condemned the Islamic State group, saying it aims to commit genocide as it targets Christians and other minorities, while torturing, raping and enslaving people who are overwhelmingly Muslim.
