The Lincoln MKC is based on the same platform as the best selling Ford Escape but with more standard power, a unique look, refined ride and more upscale amenities. The Lincoln MKC used a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a respectable 240hp. This engine is also available in the less expensive Ford. However, Lincoln also makes available with 285hp and both come with a 6-speed automatic and standard AWD The most popular model is the base 2.0L that is rated at a 12.3L/100km in the city and 9.3L on the HWY. The MKC standard Safety includes front, side and curtain airbags, plus a driver’s knee airbag along with traction and stability control but not available is forward collision warning an autonomous braking. The inside of the MKC is an attempt at a more luxurious interior than the Ford but in some ways it falls short of the competition. The look is clean and simple but there is plenty of hard plastic compared to German competitors. The new Lincoln infotainment system is vastly improved over original version and this can be equipped with navigation. There is a backup camera but the power rear lift gate is an option. A base MKC starts at roughly $42,000, the more powerful version starts at $49,000 before any additional packages.
