It's been an experience. I first met Jade, a teen mom, when a rural couple called me to say a cat had kittens in a dirty corner of their hot garage. I wasn't going to take them. I was upset, you see, that people call on me so often to do too much for free. But I weakened. I could see this young mother's struggles in my mind's eye. I finally brought all of them home. The kittens were sick. I struggled hard to save them. In the end, they all survived except Linus. Jade, who never wanted to be a mother so young, eventually even became a surrogate mom to other rescued kittens who came and went here, on their way to homes. Jade is a wonderful kitty and deserves a good home, too. Her four kittens, the garage kittens, Pippi, Bear, Lucy and Micro, will be up for adoption soon also.
