Richard Ha and his wife operate Hamakua Springs Country Farms, a 600-acre hydroponic farm on the Big Island's Hamakua coast. Richard is Vice President of the Hawai'i Island Economic Development Board and sits on the Board of Advisors for both the Keaholoa STEM program and the University of Hawai'i's College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. An advocate for Hawai'i farmers, self-sufficiency in terms of renewable energy and the islands' food security.

In this TEDxHilo Talk, Richard outlines a Geothermal strategy any island or nation could adopt to reduce their dependency on fossil fuel. Richard does an incredible job of helping anyone understand the need and opportunity for Geothermal energy.
