United Nations, 5 February 2009 - Today the Security Council heard a progress report by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the Sudan, Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi on the United Nations Mission in the Sudan (UNMIS). Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi has asked for the support of the members of the Security Council. Ambassador Yukio Takasu, Permanent Representative of Japan, is sharing with the press, in his capacity as the President of the Security Council for February, the reactions of the members of the Security Council on the UNMIS report.
