For the first time ever all women Indian Naval Sailing team has started sailing to circumnavigate the globe. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman flagged off the team at INS Mandovi Jetty.  During their 165 days long voyage, the team will have only 4 stopovers in Australia, New Zealand, Falklands and South Africa. At this occasion, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said that by completing this voyage, Indian women will make proud the country in rare category of sailing. Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba were also present on this occasion.
