Music companies have a ‘formula’ that is designed to please the masses, and to get the most people possible to buy their sheets and to keep buying them.  So we become satisfied with ‘melody in the right hand’ elevator music, which is nowhere close to HOW Sarah plays or WHAT she plays.

Here’s a structured approach to help you learn this classic hymn, breaking it down into manageable steps.  The hymn typically has a straightforward melody with accompanying chords. It’s usually played in a simple, yet expressive manner.  Start by listening to different versions of "Amazing Grace" to get a sense of the melody and its emotional impact.  Play slowly at first, then gradually increase the speed as you become more comfortable.
