http://www.torheardeventing.co.uk - check out my website, new things added today!! So, this was some show jumping we went to yesterday at Brooksby College - we were told our class would start at 1, so we got there for 12 - and then had a 5 hour wait. Wonderful!! Anyway, first class was the accumulator - each fence was worth points (10 for first, 20 for second, etc.) up to fence 10, which was a VERY skinny metre fence, which was only optional, but if you cleared it you got 100 points, but if you knocked it down you lost 100 points, but nothing was taken off for refusing - apparently no one left it up last year. So, after a decent warm up as Tommy had been stood on the trailer for 4 hours, poor lamb, nerves set in, and I still had no idea whether to attempt the Joker fence or not, as he hadn't jumped very well in the warm up. Yet half way round I thought he was jumping well so decided to go for it, and he cleared it (which is why there's no music for the first round, because I think the applause at the end shows how few got over it!) Only three of us cleared it, and I think I must have been closest to an optimum time because I won the class! Second class was 95cm - only two of us went clear out of about 20, so we jumped off - the girl before me had the last one down (which was a style jumped backwards), so I decided to go steadier and clear - and we had the same last fence down! So came second, and have been asked to join their senior show jumping team - so despite the LONG wait, it was a good day (for me - Sophie who also went from our yard with her new horse, Clover, did not have such a lucky day - you'll be hearing more of her - sub to her, http://www.youtube.com/user/sophii17 ) Thanks for watching! xxxx
