How to Grow Melons at Home Top Tips here Hi my friends, I hope you enjoyed the animated video above. All types of Melons are wonderful to grow in summer as they are just so thirst quenching. They also contain all the minerals that we need (electrolytes) that we lose when we sweat. Don't waste your money on energy drinks, just eat plenty of tropical fruits when its hot,,,Banana's are perfect for this. All types of Melons like to be grown on a raised mound and small varieties can even be grown vertically if you have strong supports. Apply plenty of water in the evening and keep the water off the leaves to avoid suit mold appearing, if it does a weak milk solution can help. Fertilising is best with liquid fish and seaweed such as Seasol and apply chicken manure after it matures,,,if you apply this too young it may burn the roots.
