On March 3, the biennial UCLA Film and Television Archive's Festival of Preservation opened at the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood with a screening of Robert Altman's COME BACK TO THE FIVE & DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN. The newly minted copy of the 1982 classic is just the latest achievement of the Archive's film restoration efforts, which the HFPA is proud to support with the Film Foundation, and the first of dozens of films that will be shown as part of the festival, running to March 27. After the show we caught up with Archive director Jan-Cristopher Horak, Mrs. Kathryn Altman and Karen Black.
