Since the dawn of time man has been on a never ending quest to reach his full potential. And that still holds true today.

But what is potential really and even deeper than that is, how is it gift?

Well, dictionary.com describes potential in a few ways:

1. possible, as opposed to actual: the potential uses of creativity,intelligence, passion, and drive
2. capable of being or becoming: a potential danger to safety, a potential asset to success.
3. expressing possibility:
4. possibility; potentiality:
5. a latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed.

In each one of these definitions there is a common theme. Potential is something to extracted, tapped into, activates, and energized in order to see the fruits it can yield.

Potential is a valuable and precious gift because it's the constant reminder that, no matter how good or bad things might get for you, it's never over because there is always more potential in your sack of tools.

Potential is a gift because it's an unspoken promise that you can overcome your greatest fears and live your wildest dreams, you need only believe in that promise and actively seek to do so.

Potential is a gift because it can never fully be acquired because by design, as you step into your current full potential, new potential is created.

Just like every seed is the potential of a tree, or flower, or plant that creates more of the same potential, every human is the potential for success, fulfillment, and happiness. Will every seed become a tree or flower or plant? Not without the right stuff to unlock it's potential.

Will every person become successful, fulfilled, and happy? No one knows. All we truly know is that we all have the potential to, if we chose.

It's a gift that is given to all of us. The question is, what will YOU do with it...?
