The transition to a clean energy economy is inevitable -- it is only a question of how soon it will occur and how abrupt the transition will be. Energy markets will rapidly evolve to select clean energy resources to replace existing fossil fuel sources in response to the confluence of four powerful "policy drivers:" 1) Expanding global markets for clean technologies; 2) The need for greater energy security; 3) Changing energy economics that result in renewables being the least-cost, least-risk alternatives; and 4) Decarbonization In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
