http://www.curtisthespazgamer.com -- This is a military tribute video I made several years ago. I am a huge admirer of the military and all they sacrifice on our behalf. Regardless of what country you're from, I think most of you share that sentiment.

This piece has gained more meaning to me, as the disabled woman in the video is named Suzy. About 15 years ago, she was living with a very nice woman who provided care for her. My wife knew this woman, as we have a disabled daughter, so we crossed paths with Suzy many times at different functions.

Anyway, the woman who provided Suzy's care had become ill, and she didn't have that much longer to live. Her big concern was that Suzy be taken care of, so she asked my wife if we would take Suzy in. Of course we said we would, so we went through the process of getting everything in our house up to state standards for providing care for the disabled, and Suzy has been with us - and a member of our family ever since.

Today, Suzy is unfortunately in advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease. - This is a common affliction for those with Down Syndrome. She has dementia, and everything is slipping away from her. One of my most proud moments, though, is that I am the last one she could remember with any regularity. Suzy and I have always had a great relationship. She would routinely greet me with jabs like, "Hey, Bowling Ball Head" to which I would respond by taking a fighting stance and she would come at me with "Kung-Fu time".

The memories with Suzy are some of the richest I have in my life. I really enjoy the fact that she was pivotal in this video, as I was trying to point out exactly what military members do to protect those of us who can't protect themselves.
