Referring to the war within CBI, Abhishek Singhvi, the National Spokesperson for Congress on Wednesday said, "This direct interference in an ongoing criminal investigation, when I am prosecuting you, is a direct violation of the law of the land; the law is clear." On October 22, the CBI arrested its own deputy superintendent of police, Devender Kumar, for allegedly forging a statement to assist Asthana in his corruption complaint against Verma. Congress on October 24, attacked the PM Modi over the war within CBI. Singhvi said the prosecutor and prosecuting officers have been made lame ducks by this government.
