Adjoined to ATX landmark the Oasis, Soleil's an upscale, open-kitchen, Mediterranean-tinged restaurant boasting a full view of the lake, weathered wood accents, lime-green wraparound couch seating, and kitschy touches like blue-painted busts of deer heads and ceiling-hanging driftwood, as opposed to ceiling-hanging deadwood, because who wants to dine underneath all that "motherf***ingsonofab*tchc**t"? Freshly sourced (not from Travis) seafood dishes include rare-seared ahi with white beans, Ital sausage & Sicilian pesto, split Maine lobster in garlic butter and lob-slaw, and creative di mare twists like a ground shrimp burger and a stone oven pizza with shrimp, avocado, bacon, and fresno chiles -- also the reception David Carr gets when his alma mater would rather get a visit from Super Bowl champion Trent Dilfer! Or even Billy Volek. They're also meating out with a NY strip w/ Gorgonzola and mission fig sauce, a hanger steak w/ black olives and hot peppers, and Osso Buco with braised tomato sauce, polenta, and gremolata, which if fed to a mogwai after midnight, would result in alota gremlins.
