LOS ANGELES CA--
Last night at the Los Angeles Film festival, a film about a man named Oscar Grant was premiered to a packed house of stars including Oscar Winner Octavia Spencer and the incredible Forest Whitaker. It's not often that a young black man who gets shot in the back by police (while handcuffed) in Oakland CA, gets a film made about him. But then yet again, it's not everyday that such a horrific and unneccesary act of sickening violence takes the life from a family and a community-- or is it?

Fruitvale Station is a heartfelt and characterizing story that portrays the events of 'that day', the last day of Oscar Grant's life. Oh and by the way, that cop who shot him, I think Mehserle was his name...he served 11 months, and is now back with his family, enjoying life, while an entire community is left with one question, how could this be? Go see fruitvale station. Tell Oscar's story.
