The development of open source platforms such as WordPress and MediaWiki has allowed educators powerful new means to connect with students, collaboratively author materials, and to share resources. This session will provide an overview of the features of these systems, as well as special features available on the UBC platforms. One such feature is the wikis Book Creator function, which allows users to select and order pages and then export them in cleaned-up printable formats such as PDF. Also taking part in the session will be UBC instructors who have used these tools in their practice, sharing their experiences and practical advice.
