The 2013 Asia Pacific Chamber Music Competition attracted some of the region's finest young musicians. It's a prestigious and important event for the young musicians who take part, offering them experience, exposure and valuable prizes and is seen as a launching pad to a career on the world stage. It's a friendly competition, but the prizes on offer can be career changing for these ensembles, so the rivalry is intense. Over one intense week in Melbourne, four piano trios and four string quartets from Australia, China, Japan and Singapore played in front of live audiences and a panel of judges, in a bid to make it through to the finals. Ivory, Strings and Bows follows the 2013 competition, from the first round to the nail biting end - on stage and backstage. And the winner is....?
