Today I'm examining whether Infinite Warfare is stealing the gun perk design from Destiny. All signs point to yes if you're looking at the "leaked" epic guns posted to the Call of Duty twitter. 

Now some of you may gasp at the site of design crossovers between Destiny and Call of Duty, but I’m not so quick to inherently think it’s a bad thing. When games can take what works and throw out what doesn’t, they stand to gain a much better project. At the end of the day, it’s about what gamers enjoy. After all, that’s what video games are all about. So if this crossover provides COD fans with a more enriched, diverse gunplay experience, than they definitely stand to make all kinds of gainz. 

HOWEVER, I also have some huge concerns with this perk lottery design. And a lot of this has to do with the general consensus in the cod community that this style will lend itself to play to win. As you can see from the images, different stat rolls result in better perks. And the fact that these guns will be attainable with in-game supply drop purchases, WITH real world currency. That has me very concerned. While I’m sure their will be a mechanic that allows for the earning of supply drops with in-game playtime, if it’s anything comparable to Black Ops 3, the process will take too long for 90% of players to attain anything useful.
