Public concern attracted a big crowd out to Hawaii Preparatory Academy's "Bee the Change" event held Jan. 25, 2013, at the Gates Performing Arts Center in Waimea. The event was put together with Bee Love Apiaries, The Kohala Center, Kohala Mountain Farm, and Slow Food Hawaii. Many came after hearing about the massive failure of Stacey Hasegawa's pumpkin patch due to a lack of pollination.
