Expert Witness Animal Control Officer Speaks on Behalf of Dogs Deserve Better

Dogs Deserve Better, Inc., a nonprofit freeing chained dogs and bringing them into the home and family, bought Vick's dogfighting compound in 2011 and has been transforming it to a rescue home for chained dogs. In 2012 the very same VA Commonwealth Attorney who dropped all cruelty charges against Vick charged the organization founder with cruelty as a smear campaign to rid the county of an organization that does good instead of harm. Their one witness never showed up for any court dates, but Dogs Deserve Better brought an expert vet witness, an expert animal control witness, and a slew of other witnesses to each court date. The smear never stood up to the light of day. Since we never got to speak our piece in court, we held a press conference where our witnesses gave a statement.
