Can the doctor check to see if my child is hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic?

It sounds like you have some questions about your daughter's blood sugar, either it being too low or too high. And if you have suspicions about this being an issue, it would be best to talk with your pediatrician. They can ask you more specific questions about it, and perform an exam on your daughter, and then decide if further investigation or treatment is warranted. There are a few different ways to find out what someone's blood sugar is. They may even be able to find out what it is in the office right on the spot using a glucometer. They just poke the person's finger, or if it's a small baby, they poke the heel to get a sample of blood, and the glucometer within a matter of seconds can tell you what the blood sugar is. Sometimes for a more accurate result, they send you to a lab to have a blood draw. So these are a few different things your doctor might do if they feel like it's necessary.
