Increasing the Stability Fund 'not necessary' according to Van Rompuy

After easily negotiating the text of the Lisbon treaty 'amendment' at December's EU Council Summit, Herman van Rompuy has stated that an increase to the fund, which has currently been drawn upon for only 4% of it's capacity is not necessary. Should contagion continue to pose a threat to Eurozone stability and should Spain require assistance, this decision may be revisited.
