Farmers gather outside district collector office demanding action against fake pesticide company

A group of farmers from Nallampalayam Village of Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore gathered outside the Collectorate office, demanding action against a pesticide company on Monday. Holding dead and decayed crops, these villagers alleged that their standing crops were damanged after using a fake pesticide offered by a private firm. The farmers filed a complaint against the pesticide manufacturing company and also demanded compensation in return for their losses. In yet another incident outside the district collector office, a group of Dalit residents sported black ribbons on their eyes and lighted candles staging a novel protest.
