33-year-old Phatwa Senene has developed an Internet of Things (IoT) broom that allows municipal workers to communicate with the municipality in cases of a pipe burst or illegal dumping scene. It took the tech inventor two days to design his broom, which he manufactured using a 3D printer. The broom system is connected to the municipality’s computer network and can be programmed to log a variety of municipal problems. The broom developed won the best enterprise development solution award at the MTN Business IoT awards this year.
