Hand Painted 5 foot wooden sign

In this video I show you how I made a 5 foot round sign from 1 inch x 12 inch pine. This sign was for a restaurant who wanted something bold for one of their walls. They decided to use their logo just blown up quite a bit. Unfortunately I lost the build footage or rather I deleted it by accident but I did have a couple of pictures that show the front and back construction of the sign. There really isn’t anything fancy just some 1x3s that are used as bracing and support that are glued and screwed to the 1x12s. I first made a large template by printing out the logo on to 49 sheets of paper. Which I taped together to use as the template for the piece. Then I built the sign out of wood and cut the circle out using a jigsaw. I sanded the sign with 150 and 220 grit sandpaper. Then I painted the 5 foot circle black. I let it dry and then started from the outside edge to tape off the area for the outer blue circle. Once this was done I taped the whole thing off and used the template to trace all of the designs on to the blue tape. From there it was just a matter of cutting out the designs and painting them. Then masking off and taping and repeating the process until all of the designs and lettering was done. This took me about 5 days to complete because I wanted to wait in between coats to make sure the paint was dry before proceeding to the next stage. I was pleased with how it turned out over all. I delivered it to the restaurant and hung it using a French cleat. The restaurant owner was also pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy this video.
