VMware Flings are software tools that are offered on the VMware labs website (http://labs.vmware.com/flings) that are intended to be played with and explored. Though Flings might not become part of any future VMware product offering and are not supported, many VMware customers find these free tools incredibly useful.

To date, all of our Flings have been the product of our very creative and talented engineers. But now you have the opportunity to share your best ideas for new and innovative Flings. Submit your ideas starting August 26 through October 21, 2012 (you may submit multiple ideas). The judges will review all submissions and will announce the contest winner on November 30, 2012. The submitter of the winning entry will be awarded a full conference pass to VMworld 2013 in the U.S. or Europe (but note that travel is not included!). If we really like your idea our eager Engineering team will get busy building your dream Fling.
