QUESTION:
if everything collapses what kind of future can we expect...? i dont believe that there exists technology that can substitute oil...

people might start to understand that materialistic way of living is pointless....

what if depopulation is unavoidable? what if people start to kill each other when when we run out of resources necessary for living ... what if this crisis is leading to hell ... people can easily rationalize most horrible crimes ....

Yes the depopulation situation could happen. It's happened before. History is full of examples where people turned on each other Rwanda is only the most recent. That's why I think good thoughts but I also own firearms and lots of ammo. I'm cautiously optimistic about the change though. I think we can transition to a much less wasteful society. The number of people working on the problem increases every day.

With current technology the country could totally end importing foreign oil. We'd just need more motorcycles and bicycles with gasoline engines salvaged from lawn mowers. People won't need their lawn mowers anyway since their yards will be planted in potatoes rather soon.
I have both a 60mph 80mpg scooter and a bicycle with an electric motor. I commute with both when the weather is warm but I'm ready to use them in winter one gas gets expensive.
