Stargazers across the globe are being spellbound by a scorching red 'Blood Moon' lighting up the night's sky this evening. The longest lunar eclipse in a century has sent the moon behind the shadow of the Earth tonight, turning it a deep crimson for people in Britain, Europe, Asia, Africa, parts of Australasia and South America to see. Mars is also visible to the naked eye as it moves the closest it will be to Earth in the next 270 years. The Blood Moon is set to last between 84 and 104 minutes depending on your location, with the sky looking its most spectacular at around 9.21pm BST. Parts of Europe and the Middle East are already experiencing the dazzling red moon, as Britain waits for it to rise.
