Vitamin Water is betting you can't and is giving away a $100,000 to the person who successfully goes one year without using a smartphone. I thought this was a pretty clever piece of viral advertising on the part of Coca Cola and Vitamin Water. Not only do they get everyone who enters the contest using their hashtag #nophoneforayear and advertising for Vitamin Water, but they've also managed to get a bunch of articles written about them and the contest in Fortune and other publications. I'm sure there will be some more viral stories following the person who wins this contest and has to attempt to go a year without a smartphone. Don't think you can cheat either, it sounds as if they will be giving you a lie detector test at the end of the year. Could you do it?
