I made this short animation for my Character Animation class in my university. Our class required each of us to model a 3D character, and then animate him/her for our final class project. We don't necessarily have to use Blender; a friend of mine uses Maya for his animation. I used Blender because that's the 3D software I've been taught with in the university.

In my story, Sean is a boy whose greatest character flaw is his shyness. One day, he met a girl named Lily, who sells ice-creams to children. Sean falls in love, but her intense shyness prevents him from approaching Lily. So he decided to practice his social skills... in front of a tree.

I wanted to animate this a little longer; unfortunately, due to time constraints, this is the only scene I managed to finish and submit. Also, the scene was originally going to take place in Sean's bedroom, but out of my lecturers' advice, I switched it to taking place in a park instead. Facial animation is all direct Shape Keys manipulation. Admittedly, I'm a little fuzzy with animating via keyframes because I've been so used to using Source Filmmaker's Motion Editor, but I think I did a good job at it. I did the voice-acting myself. I actually did the little background music at the end as well, using FL Studio 10.
