The communication minister has spoken out against looming retrenchments at the SABC.
Nomvula Mokonyane says job cuts should be a last resort, and not the only solution to turning the public broadcaster around. 
At the same time, the South African National Editors Forum says retrenchments should only be considered if all other cost cutting options have been explored.
