Karyn Kusama’s Destroyer came to the capital for the 2018 London Film Festival this evening. The film stars Nicole Kidman, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bucky in the Avengers Sebastian Stan, Scoot McNairy, Shamier Anderson and The West Wing and Get Out’s Bradley Whitford.

Kidman talks about playing a very different type of character in this film compared so many of her earlier roles, and why she was attracted to the project in particular.

PLOT:
Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Destroyer is released on Christmas Day in the US.
