The South African Social Security Agency - SASSA - was hauled into parliament today to explain the long queues at pay points and while some beneficiaries have not receive their money this month. There is currently a change-over to ensure that administration of payments is moved away from Cash Paymaster Services, whose contract with SASSA was deemed unlawful. The Post Office will officially take over from CPS in administering the payment of grants from September. But it has already issued SASSA cards and is involved in the payment process. Beneficiaries with the new cards, however, have not been able to access some or all of their income. To discuss we're joined by the CEO of the Post Office, Mark Barnes.
