The rear sonar system is a parking aide that sounds a tone that helps the driver detect obstacles within approximately six feet of the rear bumper.

The beep gets faster as you get closer to the obstacle and sounds a continuous tone when it is less than a foot away from the bumper.

The rear sonar system automatically turns on when the shift lever is placed in Reverse and the ignition switch is ON.

There may be instances when you want to turn the sonar system OFF, for example, when backing up with a trailer.

To turn the rear sonar system OFF, push the REAR SONAR switch OFF with the ignition switch ON. The OFF indicator light illuminates.

Push the switch a second time to turn the system back ON again. The system also resets each time the ignition switch is turned OFF and then back ON.

The rear sonar system sensors are located on the rear bumper. Be sure to keep them clean and free from snow, ice and dirt.

The system may not detect objects at speeds above 3 miles per hour.

Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information.
