Oklahoma City's retail property market is running but not humming — like an engine with a little bad gas in the tank. But it's unrefined petroleum that has it needing its injectors cleaned: crude oil. Price Edwards & Co. blamed slowed local wage growth, attributable to lost high-paying jobs in the energy sector, and reduced population growth for the uptick in store space vacancy since the first of the year.
