- 6th Imam as-Sadiq is integral to the existence of Ithna Asheri Shias - Why don't we follow the majority? (ie the Ummah) - The reliability of channels of narration, which are direct and well connected. The only trustworthy and direct channel are the Ahlul Bayt - 3 qualities of those with upright character - ISIS situation in Iraq with a new PM - United stand of the ulema and marajah in regards to Iraq and Ay. Sistani's statements "People ask why we don't follow the path of majority? In the Qur'an there is no issue of minority/majority. If you really want to go with that, in Qur'an the word ak-thar is used for those who are mostly on the wrong path. For us the issue is the chain of reliable, trustworthy, and direct links. And the only true one is that of the Ahlul Bayt." "We don't go to one scholar for our aqida and call ourselves ash'ari, and then for fiqh go to Abu Hanifa, and say I'm Hanafi in fiqh, and then go to Imam Shazili for the spiritual path, and become a Sufi; All at the same time. No, our aqida, fiqh, and spirituality comes from the same source: the Imams of the Ahlul Bayt. And noone else." "One serious problem is that we have jaahil people giving out fatwas and opinions. But in every generation we have people who safeguard the knowledge, and this process continues, known as Ijtihad. Every generation has been blessed as those who are considered rightful in knowledge and character." "The words used by Canadian media about ISIS include 'common self serving criminals, Caliphate of murder and an emirate of thugs.' When reading this I recalled my Laylatul Qadr lecture where I talked about the Khawarij being the ideological ancestors of ISIS and the Salafis. In the Naharwan battle where most of the Khawarij were killed, one companion mentioned they've all been killed. Ali predicted then, that 'By Allah, no, not yet. You think the Khawarij have vanished? No, they still exist in the loins of the men, and wombs of the women. [meaning they will continue in the future] And when a chief among them emerges, he will be cut down.' At least we have that prophecy of elimination. Then he says 'til the last of them will turn into thieves, and robbers.' So yes, they are nothing but thugs."
