The current "Great Recession" is likely to have a dramatic impact on America's children. Vitually all the progress made in children's economic well-being since 1975 is likely to be wiped out by the downturn. The impact is especially severe for low-income children of color. Join the New America Foundation's Workforce and Family and Education Programs and the Foundation for Child Development for the release of the 2009 Child Well Being Index (CWI) and a Special Focus report on the impact of the recession. Our speakers will discuss the state of America's children, some bright spots and particular areas of concern, as well as steps America can take to help its young people succeed in the face of daunting obstacles.
