This is a video from the first solo piano recital I've ever given...naturally I was a bit nervous. This is Bach's first Prelude and Fugue in C Major, from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. I've always loved this prelude and I actually didn't think I was supposed to play it this quickly, but my teacher said it should be "pretty fast", otherwise the chord progression would not be as clear. The fugue I was really nervous about, because I've tended to avoid fugues throughout the years (they really don't fit my playing preferences), and I had never performed one for anybody before. I like this fugue, though, because it's slow and clear, and I felt like I could concentrate pretty well on bringing out the voices even though the fingering gets pretty difficult at times. I think I played them both too loud. :/ Hope you like it. (And in case it isn't clear, I used the score for the fugue but not the prelude.)
