I finally get to playing one of my all time favourites! I actually tried to do this one a while back but was prevented from doing so due to the game.... well... not working very well on modern operating systems and graphics drivers! Fortnately the Steam version seems to have no such quibbles and even cooperates with Bandicam so I can record it for you fine folks!

I'm also using the truly magnificent XWA Upgrade mod pack (which I cannot recommend highly enough (you can get it here: http://www.xwaupgrade.com/) which replaces pretty much every ship model, texture, visual effect and generally gives the game a facelift (which as a game over 10 years old makes the world of difference and makes it just soooo much prettier!)

If you fancy a go yourself you will also need a joystick to play and I personally cannot speak highly enough of this fine specimin: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Joystick-PS3/dp/B001CXYMFS

The Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS. It's not the BEST HOTAS out there but for the price it's fantastic and unless youre looking to sink some major cash into a controller youre not gonna need for many games... this is the one you want. I bought it primarily for Elite Dangerous (and it works wonderfully for that) but it's great for this game as well!

(I've had to split this first episode incidentally as the intro got copywrite striked due to the music so cant be monetised or editied into the main video (this will likely happen again so apologies when it does but I'd rather upload some videos in bits with the music in tact because its GLORIOUS!!!) :D
