Our spirit can touch His Spirit; and by us breaking down our outer man - soul and body - others can easily contact our spirit and have the opportunity of seeing יהוה and being saved. 
So much lost time is spent with those that just let you meet their thoughts, emotions and will -  you may visit with them for years and still not meet their spirit-their real person- even though you may both be believers! 
The outer shell is just too thick to penetrate the condition of their inner man!
