Cult sci-fi fans, you have a new reason to nerd out at least until 2014.
British filmmaker Joe Cornish, who directed 2011's excellent Attack the Block, has been tapped to helm an adaptation of Neal Stephenson's 1992 cyberpunk classic Snow Crash.

The book is set in a dystopian United States where corporations rule and compete with each other for territory. The main character, Hiro Protagonist, is a hacker who investigates a potent drug that also acts like a computer virus, called Snow Crash. Cornish recently worked as a screenwriter on The Adventures of Tintin with Steven Spielberg, and Ant-Man with Edgar Wright.

Corporations ruling the government, and hackers threatening to take it all down? Talk about life imitating art.
