South African star of the 1960s, born in Springs, Johannesburg, where she was educated at Springs Convent. She played tennis, hockey and netball at school, but it was classical music that occupied most of her time outside of the classroom. She became a competent pianist, but after leaving school decided to switch to singing.

She made a name for herself throughout Europe, appearing in countries such as England, (where she appeared on the same bill as Frank Ifield, the famous Australian singer), Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, and in other European countries, thereafter singing in Australia (frequently om television), New Zealand, New Caledonia and Tahiti, before moving on to the Far East, including Japan, and she even entertained US troops in Vietnam, often placing her life in grave danger. Back is South Africa she appeared at the Beverly Hills Copacabana Club near Durban, also undertaking country-wide tours with the likes of Nico Carstens and Eve Boswell, amongst others.

One of her first local recordings was “Heart”, in 1963, which subsequently inspired Gene Rockwell to also record the song. It became his greatest and most memorable recording, and is as popular today as it was in the early 1960s.

This song is off the compilation album "Please Come To My Party", released in 1964. It's a cover of a  Eydie Gormé song from 1963.
