February 26, 2001, 4:15 PM Drive to Pine Island -Observing Lowcountry Ecosystems along the May River. There is a richness to Pine Island, for example  - salt marsh, tidal marsh, wetlands, shorebirds, waterfowl, herons, diverse habitats, plant life. These ecosystems are crucial to life. Through observation I am getting a better understanding of the natural world and it feels good.
