Heavy downpours in South Korea have flooded homes and farms and killed 3 people. Strong winds have also led to flights to be cancelled or delayed. Our Choi Si-young has more. The recent torrential rain has caused damage across Korea. In Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, a man in his sixties was killed by a falling rock while driving a truck. A man in seventies who was missing in Gwangju has been found dead, and a woman was killed after being hit by a lightning while she was planting rice. In Jeollanam-do Province, a woman in her seventies was injured by mudslides,... and a 14-year-old student is missing after being swept away by a strong current. In Jeollanam-do Province and Jeju Island, almost 90 buildings were flooded. and in Jeollanam-do Province, 52 cars were submerged, and six thousand chicks were killed when their cage flooded. Across the nation, about 80 square kilometers of farmland were damaged, 40 square kilometers of which were in Jeollabuk-do Province. At Jeju International Airport, five flights were cancelled and several others were delayed due to wind shear caused by strong winds. And in Seoul, the rain raised the level of the Hangang River so that pedestrians were not allowed to use the Jamsu-kyo Bridge.
